Message So last thursday I went skiing at Okemo mountain in VT. It was my first time skiing in about 2 years or so, but I've been skiing most of my life. Around lunch time the trails started getting a little slushy so I told myself I'd make a few more runs and call it a day. I head down this trail a single diamond, no big deal, but its really slushy. So instead of turning in the crap i figure I'll just bomb down it and slow when the trail gets easier further down. I was unaware though that there was a pretty steep part before the easy part. As soon as I saw the steep downgrade I tried to turn, but the wet snow just kinda gripped my skiis and made it very hard to turn To make a long story short I';m flying down this trail, go down the steep part off balance and hit a huge jump at the bottom which sends my flying into the woods doing a flat spin with my back to the ground. My thigh slams into a tree and then I continue spinning off the trail further into the woods.

Immediatly I knew I broke my leg and then as I finally settled I look over at it and i see my foot all contorted in a direction thaty was very unnaturl. My leg was basically an "L". I was pretty calm given the situation and i picked my leg up and put it back as close as to what direction it was suppose to be in. I felt a very uncomfortable "pop" Screaming for help, it finally came, and along with the help came severe unimaginable pain. The ski patrol patrol put my leg ina splint and I was begging for someone to punch me in the head and knock me out. To my dismay no one did though.

An hour later I was down the hill still in terrible pain, and then off to the hospital where i got a nice amount of morphine. Turns out i broke my femur in two places and got a plate put in since the way the brake was they couldn't put in a pin. The surgery took three and a half hours, and i was still out for 3 more hours before i woke up. So i was in the hospital untill wed, and am now in a rehab center in my home town, where i will stay for another week or two. At least untill I can oput of bed on my own.

Everything in my life has been effected, I had to withdraw from school, and this was my first full semester back out of the army, which was so going to be my big start. Now thats just money and time wasted. The thing that pisses me off the most though is that since its my right leg i won't be able to drive anything for 3-4 months. I'm stuck and I'll only be able to get around with help from my friends. I was going to go to skip barbep in april, not anymore, I was hoping to get into and comptete in the uscc this year, but won't anymore, and now my Z will take even longer to fully compleate. Whats even worst though is that I'm suppose to get my car driving again at the end of the month, and now I still won't be able to drive it. I mean this is just so shitty.

Sorry for the long vent but this is only the second time I've been able to use a computer, and the first time i was still on way too much morphine to conentate. They got me on oxycotton sp? now, which is still pretty bad. I'm trying to look on the bright side though and find the good. I mean hell I could be dead or worse a vegtable or paralyzed right now, so in a way all in all i'm lucky.

To anyone who read all this, I'm surprised. I'll get some pics of my leg and all 42 staples. The cut was 13" long in oreder to put the plate in, so it'll make for a good pic. If my spelling and puntuation are really bad, I'm sorry, but I'm tired now and going back to bed, so I'm not checking through it. I'll blame it on the drugs;)
